Last year the Rocky Mountain Goats Foundation awarded three scholarships in the amount of $3,000 to each of our student applicants. Mike Serrecino (below left), a student at CSU Pueblo, is studying the feeding habits and summer diet of the mountain goat in the Colorado Rocky Mountain Range. Rocky Spencer (below middle), also a CSU Pueblo student, is trying to learn if the goat population in Colorado are infected with a parasite that causes lungworm-pneumonia. Blake Lowrey (below right), is studying the interaction between bighorn sheep and goats in Montana.
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Welcomes New Billy The transfer of “Albert the Goat” from the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle was facilitated by the Foundation’s donation of $5K plus. Albert replaces Buckskin Charlie, the previous resident stud, who passed away about two years ago. As some of you may recall, Buckskin Charlie was also brought to the CMZ through efforts by your Foundation some 14 years ago. |
